Farmer Street Studio

... a creative space for visual art making, showing and learning ...
Picture

Farmer Street Studio

An Artist Run Space
(non-profit collective)
of 6 practising professional visual artists*.

The studio is principally a visual arts studio for making their art.

The artists regularly hold Studio Open Days or Exhibitions within the studio space or in nearby galleries (join the mail list or follow us on social media).

Like all professional visual artists, the 6 studio artists subsidise their studio practice and studio costs via work outside the studio*.

Two of the artists provide adult community art classes within their studio area, to support many hours of under-paid work creating their art. Occasionally the studio hosts informal meetings of local professional artist groups, that studio artists are members.

Interested visitors are always welcome to visit the studio.

Our non-art commitments mean irregular open hours, so you’ll more likely find us open during one of the community classes.

* What are professional visual artists?
Sometimes confused with hobby, recreational, or commercial artists.

Creatives

       On a creative  journey

Sharing with each other and others

Six professional Visual Artists, formally trained and experienced, working together, creating unique art.
Art is a process rather than a product.  Making art together over many years inspires others to begin or persist in their own personal creative journey.  Each guided by their own individual impulses, tastes, emotions, essence, all uncovered by a habit of daily making.
Those interested are welcome to visit the studio, to see art making underway, to buy or commission a work, to sign up for artist-led classes and workshops, and to share creative experiences over a cuppa.
